Classes are offered in the following styles of dance and performance:

BALLET and POINTE
Ballet Classes are for all ages, 3 years and up, and range from recreational and introductory, to more structured classes with syllabi and repertoire. The style of ballet in these classes is disciplined, encourages graceful movement, good use of balance poise, posture and is an excellent trainging for most of the other forms of dance. Pointe is also available for those who have trained previously, and are deemed ready by their ballet mistress. Ballet provides a constructive and exciting challenge for developing childern to adults, and everyone in between. .

MODERN THEATRE and JAZZ AWARDS
Modern Theatre Dance defies a single permanent definition. This is largely due to its ability to adapt, develop and evolve with the changing fashion in dance. Through a carefully planned and well-tried examination syllabus, which combines modern dance, jazz and other dance styles, young people are trained to become disciplined and versatile dancers who have a professional attitude towards dance. A series of examinations has been created from children's grades through to professional teaching qualifications. The children's work is based on natural movements: walking, running, jumping and skipping. It is designed to encourage an imaginative and rapid response from beginners. The Jazz Awards provide a basic grounding in modern jazz, and are ideal for the late beginner or as a recreational course of movement. Boys' work has been developed to meet increasing demand for a modern dance training for boys.

HIP HOP & STREET JAM
This very popular form of dance is offered for various levels and age groups (mixed classes).

TAP
Apart from being an essential skill for the professional dancer, tap dance is one of the most enjoyable and rhythmic forms of recreational dance. The ISTD offers a series of examinations from Children's grades through to professional teaching qualifications. The Medal Tests are shorter exams designed to encourage good rhythm, style and technique. Classes for all ages.

PRE-PROFESSIONAL JAZZ
For advanced students, the class begins with warm-up stretches and exercises. Movement builds to across the floor steps, with combinations that are technically demanding.

CONTEMPORARY
Learn how to move with ease, awareness, intention and expression while learning about your body and having fun dancing to an eclectic selection of musical styles. Each student will learn to accept, respect their body and discover its capacity to communicate . While balancing stretch and strength the class will include a warm up during which attention will be brought to breathing, connecting to the floor through the feet, finding proper alignment,  bringing awareness to the pelvis and articulating the torso and limbs.  As the class progresses through various movement combinations in which musicality,  rhythm patterns and theatrical timings are used to stimulate imagination, the students will be invited to move slowly, fast, big, small, on the spot and through the whole space therefore working on spatial awareness, learning to remember long sequences of movement, enhancing range of motion and improving cardiovascular capacity.

acrobaticsACROBATICS
If you like gymnastics and traditional floor exercise elements, you’ll love Acrobatics! Acrobatics involves the development of strength, agility, power, flexibility, endurance, balance and coordination as they pertain to the following acrobatics skills: Rolls, Handstands, Bridges, Partner work, Front walkover, Back walkover, Back handsprings, Aerials, Tumbling... and more!

highland danceHIGHLAND DANCE
Highland Dance is a fun, energetic style of dance. It is offered to students age 5 and up. Classes are for the beginner to the advanced dancer, from recreational to exam and competitive work. Exams are offered when the teacher feels students are ready, usually in their second or third year of dance, and are done through the SDTA (Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance) and, if successful, school credits are earned when the highest level of exam is achieved. In the classroom, all warm-up exercises and dance movements are taught using a variety of Scottish music. Each lively class begins with a warm-up, followed by body strengthening, positional work, set movements, steps and dances. Both traditional and modern Celtic music is used, with the main focus being on fun, while being the best you can be!

song and danceSONG & DANCE
Many dancers find it desirable, necessary, and artistically satisfying to sing as well as to dance. Classes are offered for all ages, with an emphasis on the sheer pleasure of singing, learning vocal technique, and how to sing and dance effectively at the same time. Great preparation for musical theatre and to be able to address a group and express yourself with confidence.
